LIFE:CAPTURED began in August 2013 when we held our first full-day workshop at RAW Space in Sydney, Australia. Our mission is to help people document their stories and create tangible keepsakes to be treasured for generations to come. We offer intensive design, photography, and memory keeping workshops, as well as interactive online classes. We are advocates of honest photography, minimalist design, and memory keeping that's simple, beautiful, and tangible. We are the pioneers of the story book, and we offer flexible templates that enable everybody to tell their story. We believe that life is worth remembering and that it is never too early or too late to start documenting yours. LIFE:CAPTURED was founded by Rhonda Mason (of the Pink Ronnie blog) and Trish Chong (of Tealily Photography).

Visual Storytelling - An online class by LIFE:CAPTURED Inc (The modern school of memory keeping)

Those two.  They drive us a little crazy yet they make life bigger and brighter than it’s ever been. My husband Joel and I took them to the other side of the world over winter.  We left thinking we were a little crazy, and returned home even surer of the fact.  But we can’t deny among the craziness we had some perfect moments chilling out by Lake Como or finding refuge on a sweltering day on Brighton Beach and we know these memories will be precious ones.  But equally precious are all the in between moments – having outdoor baths in plastic tubs in the sticky Malaysian heat; late night after late night in our little London apartment as the sun refused to go down; jumping from bed to bed at our Uncle’s house in Singapore. These are all the moments that reflect the reality of our family – some beautiful, some trying – but all in all, as time passes – they become the cherished ones.

Since beginning Tealilyphotography back in 2007, we are so privileged that people trust us to help capture some of these memories for their families.  Through the years, we’ve had so many friends and fellow mums and dads mention in passing that they’ve bought or received a great camera but they don’t really know how to use it.  Others have asked what course they should sign up to and most of the time we scratch our heads and suggest they teach themselves by putting themselves in the deep end and switching the camera over to manual mode to get a grasp of how it works. I guess this is the main reason we have decided to tailor a five week online photography course to those who not only want to take control of their camera, but to begin to equip them to start telling the in-between stories that make up our lives.

Essentially our Visual Storytelling class would be great for parents or even grandparents looking to improve their skills pending the arrival of a child, or simply to be better able to document their travels or family life. Our online class is accessible to anyone and everyone, running over five weeks and aims to cover both the emotional and technical aspects of mastering manual photography, while equipping you to tell the story you want to preserve.

It’s all a bit new for us but if you think this is the course for you, we’d love to have you join us next month! Jump over here for more information about the syllabus and how you can sign up for our Visual Storytelling online class.
