Sydney

LIFE:CAPTURED began in August 2013 when we held our first full-day workshop at RAW Space in Sydney, Australia. Our mission is to help people document their stories and create tangible keepsakes to be treasured for generations to come. We offer intensive design, photography, and memory keeping workshops, as well as interactive online classes. We are advocates of honest photography, minimalist design, and memory keeping that's simple, beautiful, and tangible. We are the pioneers of the story book, and we offer flexible templates that enable everybody to tell their story. We believe that life is worth remembering and that it is never too early or too late to start documenting yours. LIFE:CAPTURED was founded by Rhonda Mason (of the Pink Ronnie blog) and Trish Chong (of Tealily Photography).

As most of you will know, LIFE:CAPTURED actually began when Trish and I held our first signature workshop back in August 2013, so this particulate teaching event holds a special place in our hearts. This year, we wanted to hold our main event in a brand new location and after months of scouting, we've finally secured a fresh venue for our next signature workshopThe lovely Zoe of The Wedding Nest is inviting us into her beautiful home (see below) in the northern beaches of Sydney, and we are so pumped about it. White walls and flawless vignettes - it's every workshop host's dream come true.

This time round, we have decided to half the size of our class, as we feel this will help make the workshop more intimate and hopefully some one-on-one time might be possible. Apart from this, nothing else changes. Our aim is still to teach both the technical and emotional aspects of documentary photography right through to editing and workflow, photo book design and layout, journalling, memory keeping systems, life albums, and organisation of photos and memorabilia. We will cover the fundamentals of using Adobe InDesign for design layouts and Adobe Lightroom for photo organisation and image work. As part of the day, there will be a live photo shoot, a practical design session, and time for Q&A. And as always, our attendees will receive a goodie bag, printed materials, and a selection of design templates from our online shop.

For me, it's start sort of surreal that all this started with a conversation that Trish and I had one day over a cup of coffee. Neither of us could have imagined the amazing response that we received when we announced that first workshop, and to this day, we continue to be humbled and encouraged and uplifted by all the kindness and support that you have sent our way.

Anyway, this next signature workshop will be held on Saturday, 30 May 2015 from 9am to 6pm in Avalon, Sydney. I truly hope that some of you can join us. I'm quite confident that it will be a
beautiful, fun-filled day.
