My dear friends, I do hope that you've all enjoyed a beautiful Christmas with your loved ones. I have absolutely loved gathering with family throughout these last couple of weeks, and I have done my best to revel in the festivities and savour the quiet moments along the way. I've also been journaling like mad, and I'm finally on the home stretch with the massive project that I set myself of catching up on twelve weeks of our family's life album. Definitely not a task for the faint-hearted, and I think I'm more motivated than ever to keep up with my weekly routine going forward in the new year.
Another thing that has happened in these last couple of weeks is that we found out I have gestational diabetes again. Whilst I'm doing my best to not feel discouraged about it, I also know that this will require a large degree of my time, focus, and attention, as I endeavour to implement and adhere to a sensible diet and a disciplined exercise regime in order to try and manage my sugar levels. Even with the diabetes aside, I've become quite conscious of my body nearing its third trimester. Exhaustion, sore hips, sleeplessness, and breathlessness are already kicking in, and the need to pace myself has never been clearer.
As a result of all this, I've spent the last few days reassessing my priorities for the coming year, and whilst it saddens me to say this, I've made the hard decision to take a break from writing journaling prompts for the #lifecapturedproject for 2016. I know that many of you will be disappointed, especially as I had said in my last post that I intended to continue, but I also know that you will all understand my desire to prioritise my health and family during this time.
I do hope that you will all keep writing your heart out this year, even without new journaling prompts. Don't worry about doing it for anybody else - just do it for yourself.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year, and I'll see you guys back here on the 18th!
You can download all the journaling prompts from 2015 from this page.
p.s. After a week or more of very indulgent eating over here, I'm hoping to get stuck into a healthier diet for the month of January. Who's with me?
