LIFE:CAPTURED began in August 2013 when we held our first full-day workshop at RAW Space in Sydney, Australia. Our mission is to help people document their stories and create tangible keepsakes to be treasured for generations to come. We offer intensive design, photography, and memory keeping workshops, as well as interactive online classes. We are advocates of honest photography, minimalist design, and memory keeping that's simple, beautiful, and tangible. We are the pioneers of the story book, and we offer flexible templates that enable everybody to tell their story. We believe that life is worth remembering and that it is never too early or too late to start documenting yours. LIFE:CAPTURED was founded by Rhonda Mason (of the Pink Ronnie blog) and Trish Chong (of Tealily Photography).

The blog

The official blog of LIFE:CAPTURED Inc, the modern school of memory keeping. We believe that life is worth remembering and that it is never too early or too late to start documenting yours. We blog about design, photography, and how you can preserve your story with timeless, tangible keepsakes.

A quick spiel about my plans for this blog

Preserve Your Story - The official blog of LIFE:CAPTURED Inc (The modern school of memory keeping)

Last night, I stayed up late to figure out my vision for this space. It's one thing to put up a post and say, "Hey, subscribe to our new blog because it's going to be awesome!" and another thing to actually make it happen.

First up, I want to say a huge thanks for dropping in on our new blog and for reading along. A special thanks to those of you who have followed me across from Pink Ronnie. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the fact that you've all been so willing to embrace this change with me. Second of all, I do want to make this worth your while, which is why I spent last night working out what it is that I would blog about here.

After much editing and culling, I drilled my ideas down to a succinct list, and I would very much like to share it with you so that you can know what to expect.

Let's talk: I started a similar series back on Pink Ronnie where we would candidly chat and share our experience and opinion on random topics. Here, I thought we could do something similar but focus our conversations on the topic of memory keeping. So in the coming months, expect discussions on why we believe in memory keeping, how we often end up feeling guilty about not doing 'enough,' how we can involve our partners and our children, and what options are realistic (and do-able) when you have big families.

Life album layouts: I will continue to share my life album layouts like I did back on Pink Ronnie, and with each post, I will share new tips and articles that will hopefully help you to get started on your own life album(s).

From my memory box: This is an idea that came to me yesterday as I was browsing through my own box of memorabilia. I will hand-pick special items of mine from my personal memory box, and I'll be sharing the story behind it as best as I can.

Printables: I had been wondering whether or not to pursue this column, but in a moment of serendipity, the lovely Steffie emailed me and asked if I would consider sharing my printables still, and I found myself thinking, "Yes, of course!" So friends, you can expect more of these.

For the love of imagery: This is a series I started back on Pink Ronnie, which I think would be perfect for this space. Essentially, I'll be sharing my reflections on the art of photography, as well as some personal tips of mine along the way. This will be less about technique, and more about the theory and the thinking behind the art of creating imagery. Along the way, I'll also update you guys on how I'm traveling with my Fujifilm x100s.

Story books and photo books: Naturally, I will be blogging about the story books that I've created to date and all the ones I'm planning to make down the track. This is truly where my heart lies, especially with my new desire to document our stories more thoroughly in words as well as images. I will also share some of the more traditional photo books that I've created for our family.

Currently working on/From the archives: I'll keep you guys updated on the different personal memory keeping projects that I'm working on for myself and for my family. I'll also share some of our most treasured keepsakes from the archives.

Studio thoughts/Behind the scenes: Wherein I chat about design software, my design principles, running workshops, my creative space, and my creative processes. And, because I probably won't be able to help myself, I'm sure I'll throw in some organisation tips in relation to memory keeping.

Memorable quotes: And lastly, I thought it'd be fun to pick some of the funniest things my boys have said and turn these into nice graphics using just typography and negative space. The hardest part of this series will be deciding which ones to choose! Seriously, those little boys keep me laughing all year long...

What do you guys think? Does this sound meaty enough for us to get stuck into together?
