LIFE:CAPTURED began in August 2013 when we held our first full-day workshop at RAW Space in Sydney, Australia. Our mission is to help people document their stories and create tangible keepsakes to be treasured for generations to come. We offer intensive design, photography, and memory keeping workshops, as well as interactive online classes. We are advocates of honest photography, minimalist design, and memory keeping that's simple, beautiful, and tangible. We are the pioneers of the story book, and we offer flexible templates that enable everybody to tell their story. We believe that life is worth remembering and that it is never too early or too late to start documenting yours. LIFE:CAPTURED was founded by Rhonda Mason (of the Pink Ronnie blog) and Trish Chong (of Tealily Photography).

WORKSHOPS

We run our signature LIFE:CAPTURED workshop about twice a year in Sydney, Australia, and we have been featured on popular sites like Fete Press, Babyology, Sweet Style, and The Beetle Shack. We also offer individual masterclasses for specific topics like manual photography, digital photo organisation, and graphic design for memory keepers. Find out more about our upcoming events.

DESIGN TEMPLATES

We are advocates of timeless, minimalist design. We believe that simple is usually best. We adore clean lines, classic fonts, and white space. And we have created beautiful templates (for both story books and life albums) to help you tell your story. Because design matters, and good design should be accessible to everyone. Leave us a message on Facebook for a discount on your first order.

ONLINE CLASSES

For those unable to attend our Sydney workshops in person, we offer our masterclasses online. Most online classes will be held over 4-6 weeks, with videos, practical exercises, weekly homework, individual feedback, private forums, and printable handouts. Each online class is strictly limited in number so that we can personally attend to each student. Find out more about our upcoming classes.

A year of journaling prompts

Here at LIFE:CAPTURED, we are big believers in preserving our stories with both images and words. From big stories to little stories, from stories of heartache to stories that recount the most ordinary of moments, we believe in preserving them all. We know, however, that finding the time to write is hard enough. What's often even harder is knowing what to write when you do actually sit down to do it. Which brings us to the #lifecapturedproject. A year of journaling prompts. Download the prompts, print them out, and stick them up on your wall or keep them in your journal. Use them to help you write your stories down. To capture and preserve what's true and important to you. The journaling prompts can also double as photography prompts. Find out more about the #lifecapturedproject.

Our signature workshop

Our signature LIFE:CAPTURED workshop is a full-day photography and memory keeping workshop for anybody who aspires to document their life. Our aim is to teach both the technical and emotional aspects of documentary photography right through to editing and workflow, photo book design and layout, journalling, memory keeping systems, life albums, and general organisation of photos and memorabilia. We also cover the fundamentals of using Adobe Lightroom for digital photo organisation. As part of the full-day workshop, we include a live photo shoot, a practical design session, and time for Q&A, and all attendees will receive a goodie bag, printed materials, and a selection of design templates. Our next signature workshop will be held on Friday 19 May 2017 in Sydney. Read more about our signature workshop.

LIFE:CAPTURED Inc - The modern school of memory keeping

"The LIFE:CAPTURED workshop was one that combined two of my greatest passions: photography and organisation. There was so much more to the workshop though – the amazing hosts whose blogs I have followed, the incredible space in which we spent our day, lovely participants who were so enthusiastic to learn and fabulous food to keep us nourished all day. I came away feeling energised to create even more beautiful memories for my family (and myself) and be even more on top of my photo organising systems than I already am. The workshop was held by Trish and Ronnie. Trish is a photographer who loves documentary style shooting and Ronnie is a graphic designer and an amazing memory keeper who loves to document her life and share her systems with others. The tips and tricks I learnt fuelled my love of both photography and being organised. With the number of photos I take in a week on my DSLR and my iPhone, things can become overwhelming so having new ideas in place is absolutely wonderful."
